Research and experience
In our sawing and development center in Spangenberg the advantageous features of PROFLEX M42 have been tested and optimized during real performance tests at the most different profile cross-sections. A special focus was put on an extremely high resistance to micro-splinting and tooth breaking.

Which advantages does PROFLEX M42 offer you?
A special toothing geometry has been developed for PROFLEX M42 of WIKUS. The toothing’s sensitivety to pushes is enormously reduced because of a positive rake angle, adjusted to its cutting task. The special warmth treatment of the PROFLEX edges, made of HSS-M42, creates a structure shape which combines high wear resistance and extreme toughness. The particularly robust edge geometry is achieved by a changed tooth back. Because of the bluntly extended material volume the tooth tips of PROFLEX M42 are able to assimilate high forces and to fight stress caused by e.g. unwanted material twists or shavings in the cutting channel. The new and especially for PROFLEX M42 developed teeth setting is a specific feature.

It adjusts to very different contact lengths, that arise from crossing points into thin bridges or into small wall-thickness. It also clearly decreases the clamping of the band saw blade, something that appears extremely often because of material tensions while sawing long profile girders. Besides, the skillful combination of the variable tooth pitch with the arrangement of the set teeth results in a substantial decrease of vibration stimulations. This takes care of the cutting edges and improves to a high degree the surface roughness of the resulting cutting surface.
